It seems I’ve made it into Private Eye’s Pseuds Corner once again—my third appearance in their esteemed hall of linguistic excess. This time, they've picked up on my thoughts on football casuals and the Grand Tour.
For those unfamiliar, Pseuds Corner is Private Eye's regular column dedicated to highlighting what they consider the most pretentious or overwrought commentary in the media. Clearly, my musings on the Grand Tour parallels of 1980s football casuals, David Beckham’s rural rebranding, and the ‘menline index’ of shrinking shorts struck a chord. Or perhaps they just enjoy a professor of fashion design overthinking things.
Regardless, I’ll take it as a badge of honour. If nothing else, it proves that fashion is worth talking about—even if Private Eye prefers to roll its own eyes at it!
